When I read this my brain felt like a little flower, opening up. This is the kind of thought process that is going to save us from our doom! However, having just finished reading Oryx and Crake, the idea of modifying a plant (would it be genetic modification?) is somewhat frightening - we'd have to make said plant grow over a certain percentage of land, and what plants would it be replacing and would these be edible plants and what affect would they have on insects and birds and small children who like shiny things.

Maybe they'll take a plant that already grows over a significant area of the earth and make its leaves a little more reflective ... or.

I started thinking about things that cover the earth and of course, humans come to mind. Why not produce a reflective, flat topped cap? It could be manufactured by the billions pretty quickly, and air dropped onto countries around the globe.Everyone would be told to wear the hat and save the world. Designers would go crazy. People would have fun. And global warming would be slowed long enough for someone to come up with transport that runs on sugar

or something

Wear the hat
and save the world.
